rtmpdump.com (Mac OS X, Linux, Windows) is a console application that allows to dump RTMP streams and save them to your hard drive. To download an RTMP stream with rtmpdump.com:
- Find RTMP stream URL
- Use command prompt to run the following command:
rtmpdump -r "rtmp://host/dir/file.flv" -o filename.flv
- In case of the incomplete stream use the --resume option:
rtmpdump -r "rtmp://host/dir/file.flv" -o filename.flv --resume
- Repeat the last step as many times as needed.
How to download .FLV video stream with GetFLV
GetFLV (Windows) is a flash downloader. It support HTTP and RTMP protocols.
- To download RTMP videos with GetFLV:
- Launch "FLV Browser" and navigate to a web-site with flash video streams.
- Play the video that you want to download.
- GetFLV will capture the real URL of the selected video and show it in the URL list.
- Select the special item if you want to download it. Click the "Download" button or select "Download" menuitem from the popup menu.
- GetFLV will start downloading the selected item with the FLV Downloader.
